We are a coalition of unionists, left and progressive activists and political groups, which came together initially to oppose the privatisation of electricity in NSW.
After a successful campaign in 2008, the NSW government announced it will continue with its electricity privatisation agenda 'through the back door' of a trader model. The government now also plans to sell off the State Lotteries, state superannuation, Cessnock and Parklea Prisons, School land, waste services, Sydney Ferries and other important publicly-owned services. Power to the People has now broadened our campaign and is working closely with unions and community organisations involved in campaigns against privatisation.
We meet every Wednesday at 6pm
@ 1st Floor, 136 Chalmers St, Sydney.
